At the same time, I’m also working on scaling my ‘Serial’ painting work. This is essentially double the standard sizes. This is going much better than the landscape work at this point, mainly due to my comfort with the process over the landscapes. My experience with this more Abstract Expressionist method makes it a bit more easily to understand the canvas space and operate the paint with the proper applicator to get much closer to what I’m aiming for and to be much more aligned to the smaller scale abstract paintings I was doing previously.

Still, it’s a long way from being comfortable with the large scale ones I did in college, although I think the refinement is definitely more noticeable now.

The photography I need to work on it seems for these.
